Little Cat Feet

My Gotcha Day

Three years ago today I came to live in this house with the big kitties, Shaggy & Scooby and my new mom & dad.

I was 6 weeks old and mom got me from her friend Ashley.

As you can see from these baby pictures I was a pretty good helper. I helped mom do her puzzle books and guarded the house like a highly trained professional.
I was, and still am, intrigued with the guinea pigs. But I am not allowed into the cage anymore, because I like to try to put the bite on them.

Home and Away

Mom is home from her 30th high school reunion. She said she hardly recognized anyone, but most of them knew her, and also Dad, who graduated the year before. She must be pretty well preserved after all those years.

The boy wouldn't let us outside while they were away. We tried our best to drive him crazy, but he didn't break. But he did give us our Fancy Feast. Mom hugged us & smothered us in kisses and we got to go out with her today.

Mom said she is a homebody. Dad loves to go back home - they go once a year in the summer- and party with his friends but mom just wants to be at home and really hates going anywhere. She's like us cats. We like and thrive on our routines, and hate anything that upsets it. She's very cat-like in that way.

Still Relaxing

I'm gonna keep soaking up all the sun I can this week, because Mom & Dad are going away Thursday and we won't get out till after the weekend.
In other news, Scooby & I had our annual v-e-t check-ups last week. Scooby has lost one pound and I've lost two pounds! Both the v-e-t and Mom were really happy to finally see some progress in the weight loss department! So, yes, that is mostly floof you see in this picture!

Neighbor Kitty

This is our neighbor kitty, Mars.
He comes over to say hi whenever he can dart out the door. Usually he gets out around his gramma's feet. He always stops by our house for some adoration and pettings from mom.
Mom is in love with him and wants to keep him, but his momma says no.

Nappin'

Scout found a private cubicle for napping.

That is until Shaggy found him.

Scooby & Shaggy's Birthday

It's our 8th Birthday today!
June 1, 2000 we came into the world.
We are littermates and we're so glad we got to stay together!

Hail Storm!

We had a massive hail storm move through our area late yesterday afternoon.
Mom & Dad weren't home, so we were home alone and we got really scairt!
The hail came down hard and continuous for several minutes then paused then came again.
Mom & Dad came home about 20 min after it was over and there were golf ball sized hail stones everywhere and many of the new leaves on the trees came down. They got hail damage on their new car. Some neighbors got windshield damage and homes with siding got torn up or dented.
Mom couldn't find us right away but we came up from the basement after hearing her call us.
She said we did the right thing, running for cover down there.
She doesn't know where Shaggy went to hide down there, but he was covered with cobwebs!
We were all a little nervous the rest of the night, Scout hid under a table when more thunder was rumbling later on, and I was pacing a lot. Mom was kind of distressed she wasn't home for us, but we still knew what to do, and she said she is proud of us.

Shaggy's Dictionary

SPRING: That lovely time of year when the flowers bloom and the trees leaf out. Warm sunny days prevail and the birds sing and build their nests to raise their young. The windows are open to let in fresh breezes and enchanting smells like freshly cut grass and lilacs and barbecues.
Reality: Crappity crap crap crap. Gloomy, nearly constant rain. Flowers shivering in their pots deciding whether they should live or die. Momma grouching because she has to still layer up to go outside. The windows stay closed. The furnace is still on! Dad can't golf!! No sun, just gloom.

Scout is 3

Today I am 3!
Why does mom still call me Baby when I am a Mancat?
Here is my newborn picture. My mom got me from her friend Ashley. My momma cats name was Chicken because she was askeered of a lot of noises like trucks outside & vacuum cleaners and thunder. I was a litter of one. Just me. No siblings, so I got all momma's attention and milk!!!

I came to my forever home on the 4th of July, so I'm no chicken. Noises don't bother me at all. I was 7 weeks old and big for my age. Mom took me to the vet before she brought me home and he thought I was a month older than I actually was. But as you can see, we have photographic evidence. I was also a precocious kitten. That means daring and bold. They tried to get me to stay in the spare room but I kept climbing the gate, so they gave up in a couple days and I got to know the house. It's pretty much my castle now.

I think I'm going to like being 3.
