Rest in Peace, Tiger

Tiger was put to sleep today.
His owners, our neighbors, threw him out of the house 2 years ago when he got diabetes and was peeing all over the house. They would put out cheap dry catfood & some water on their porch, but he & Mom got to be friends and mom would feed him canned food. She got an insulated igloo from a thrift store and put it under our deck in back with insulated beds and fleece blankets so he would have a warm protected place to sleep.

Tiger didn't come running this morning when she opened the garage to give him his breakfast. So she put the dish down by the door and it was still untouched tonight.

Mom went next door and saw that his food bowls were gone from the neighbors porch so when she saw his lady outside she went over & asked where her kitty friend is. Mom suspected what had happened because over the summer when she talked to Tiger's lady she said they were thinking of doing that because he was "so old" (11 years) and sick, and was worried about him and the coming winter having to live outside.
She confirmed that she took him to the vet this morning and put him to sleep.
Mom is sad and crying tonight.
He was her special little friend and now he's gone.

We are so sorry for your loss. May Tiger find lots of nice kitties over the Rainbow Bridge, including Sasha, the one who went before me. She had diabetes, too.
And it is your loss much more than your neighbors!

I am sorry to hear about Tiger. Being old and sick is no excuse to throw away an animal. I think of Smudge and cry at the thought of losing him so young. He's only eight years old.

Lots of love to your mum. She has a furry good heart and did all that she could to help Tiger. He is in a better place, free of disease, with lots of kitties to play with. I hope that the neighbors don't get another pet as well.

This news makes me and my mom very sad. Some people are just so callous and hateful. We're glad that your mom is the exact opposite, and we're very sorry for her loss. At least Tiger had kindness in his life once he met her, and even though he didn't like being petted, I bet he loved her just the same. :-(

That is sad. Purrs to your mum, at least she made sure that Tiger had some love and attention in his life for a while. I do hope those neighbours don't get another kitty. I am 11 too and I don't think it's old at all!!! I am surprised the vet did it because most vets here wouldn't do it unless the kitty was furry sick.

I'm so sorry about Tiger. I HATE people like your neighbors (I know I'm not supposed to hate but I'm so MAD at them). They don't deserve to have pets. I'm so glad that Tiger had your mom to love him and take care of him for a while. He is in a better place now. Poor little man. I'm going to cry now...

How sad that some pet owners only want them when they're young & healthy. People like that shouldn't have pets! 11 is not that old and with proper veterinary care Tiger could have had many years. I know you did the best you could for him.

Purrs to your Mom... 11 isn't old - we are both older than that. People should know that felines (and all other fluffies too) are a commitment & if they aren't up to that then don't get one. We are glad that Tiger had your Mom to be good to him. He is probably waiting at Rainbow Bridge now.

Poor Tiger Kitty deserved a better life as a senior cat. At least your mom was that special person that tried to give him that better life. Tiger will be much better living across the Rainbow Bridge where he's healthy and playing with other cats.

We are all so sad to read about Tiger and the people who would treat any living creature the way they treated him. How fortunate for Tiger that he had a special friend like your mom who could bring some warmth to his life on this earth. Hugs and Purrs to her.

We are all so sorry. Tiger was really your cat! It was so wrong. Why do some people just do the "handy" thing. Eleven isn't old, not at all. She should have asked your Momma first! It is just so wrong and we feel so bad.

I am stunning.
How can a human beiing do this?
Why?

I am so angry that its difficult for me to type the words in English. I can't find the words zo I will type my words in Dutch to Tiger.

Vaarwel Tiger.

Mom! Yes you, mom. Not the suposed mom of Tiger. You gave him 2 years of love. And I am certain he did feel the same about you. You where his special big friend.

My Momma has furry leaky eyes, she is so sad bout lil Tiger. Some beans are just so uncaring bout anyfink that doesn't fit into a certain cir-cum-stanz. She is furry sad that these beans are allowed to have kitties. My brofur Ping has a problem wif sprayin but Momma just cleans it up and forgives him. She wood nefur kick him outta da house a cuz he is doin somefink that kitties do. But she is so sorry for your Momma, as she was the reason Tiger had any lovin the past few years of his life. He knew kindness and com-pass-shun from her.So he knew that not all beans were like the ones that threw him away like they throw away garbage. He will be waiting at the Bridge to see her again one day all safe and whole. Rest in peace our dear little friend.

I rarely want to punch someone, but right now, I really want to knock the snot out of the people who failed so miserably at being Tiger's family. The Meezers are right...we all know who Tiger will be waiting at the Bridge for, and until then, we all have pets who had gone ahead and will keep him company.

I agree with Tiger. So does my mommy. If I wrote what I think of those *#@%! (I refuse to associate them with humans) you'd have to delete my comment.

We're glad Tiger had your mom to take care of him and show him love and affection. I'm sure is it all the love he ever knew.

Those *&^%$#s stink and more than that they *bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep."

My mommy doesn't swear much, but she is crying and swearing now.

Love to your momma for her grief and admiration for taking care of him all these year. Tiger will come running to her again when she meets him at the Bridge...

Stoopid two legs (can't call them beans, they're not human). We had a woofie dat was diabetic and momma took care of hims for 7 years and cried like she is right now when he wented to the bridge. That is stoopid, yoo can't just throw away a living thing because yoo don't wanna be bothered. there are alternatives. Momma takes in sick fuzzys alla time. Tiger was lucky that he met yoor mommy. At least now he's healthy again and I bet he greets her at the bridge and not the stoopid neighbor.

Oh so sad about Tiger. I know how hard it is to have to put someone loved down. But in Tiger's case I think it was for the best cause he was sick. Your Mom was so kind to Tiger especially getting the igloo so he could sleep in it and all the other kind things she did.

I just dropped in to tell you that no Poppa Doza the neighbors cat doesn't come over cause he isn't allowed out of the house. But I didn't expect to get such sad news.
Comfort your Mom O.K.
