Patches
This is Patches. Our mom is his catsitter.
His momma was out of town last week and is going again this week for 5 days. He would not cooperate for the camera. Mom wanted to get his big eyes. She says he looks totally nipped out all the time because his eyes are huge and perfectly round. Like big green marbles.
Anyway he gets pretty lonesome when his mom is gone so our mom always spends time each day with him. She takes her book to read while she pets him and tells him how pretty he is. We know she's just saying that to cheer him up, 'cause we are the most handsome cats she knows. She tells us all the time.
You can't see it, but the reason he is called Patches is that he has a white neck & chest and little white spots on his tippy-toes.
He is about 8 years old and is a Maine Coon. He has super long hair and it is usually real tangled in hair mats, cause his momma is kinda old and not good at brushing him alot. Mom tries when she takes care of him, but he is sensitive about his belly. Usually he goes to a groomer.
We sniff mom when she comes home after visiting him, but we don't mind that Patches is her friend.

your Mom is way cool to spend time with him. my Mom sits for the neighbor cat, but she just hides the whole time.
Can your mum come and sit with me if my mum goes away? She sounds nice to come over and hang out with me.
He is just beautiful, tell you mom that our mom is cat sitting too. Her brother has gone to see their mom! So our mom will read & play with Belle & Happy Cat.
Ask your mom to take more pictures of Patches.

See, you Mom is good People. We need more good People. I wouldn't mind if she came to watch me and Buddah sometime, but she has to leave the brush at home.

I'm sure Patches is happy to see your mum. I like being brushed and combed too. Uncle Andrew is going to catsit me next week but he isn't good at combing me the way I like.
Patches is very handsome! We were wondering about his name 'til you splaned though. I bet he reely appreciates your mum staying a nice long time with him. OUr good Anty Virginya does that too, even though she is a drooler mom. She even brushes us, which we both like, but we don't let anybody brush the bellies either. Mom kisses them though. Ick.

Sounds like you have a class act as a mother! I'm glad to hear that you guys aren't jealous, either--that you understand how important it is that Patches feel comfortable while he stays with you.
Plus...the worst cat is far better than the best dog!
It's so nice that you guys share your mom like that. And that she takes care of other peoples' babies is especially nice. I bet Patches loves it when she does!
