Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

A Possum!

Mom has been wondering why big bowls of food she leaves out for Tiger are completely gone in the morning and why the water in the big dish is
mostly gone and dirty.
Well last night mom was sitting by the open windows with us in the living room when suddenly we all came to attention and turned toward the window.
Mom figured it was Tiger and went to the window to say hello.
What should she see but the biggest possum she's ever seen in her life!!! That fellow had to be at least 10-12 pounds!
He was gray and had a pointy face & snout and beady eyes and a skinny rat tail!
He saw her looking at him and waddled down off the deck and through the yard.
We didn't know there were possums in Minnesota. She said when they lived in San Diego 20 years ago there was a possum family that came to eat oranges from the trees at night. But they were quite small.
Does any one out there know what areas they typically range over? Is the one we saw unusually large? Or maybe it was a pregnant female.
She is gonna try real hard to get a picture of him!

We have giant possums in Whisk-onsin and sometimes they raid our bird feeders at night. But if Mom turns on the outside light, they run away.

Since they live here, we're not surprised to hear they live in Minn. too.

We live in Louisiana and have pleny of possums around, big ones. They love kitty food. Bubbles is not afraid of them at all, and pretty much he just ignores them.

Mama said she saw possums when she lived in Miz o ry, but not in Minnie soda. We live by a park, but in a very urban area other than that. We see loons, ducks geese, bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks and woofies, mostly around here. Oh, and birdies like crows and cardinals and robins and wrens and bluejays and pigeons. When she worked out in West Bloomington years ago, out in the boonies, they had foxes and deer and racoons in the parking lot!

Sorry you couldn't get updates before. We are here and doin' okay.

You are lucky that it was just on yur porch, we had one (several years ago) get into my bathtub in my trailer house. It is quite a funny story about the way my husband killed it, but it is way too long to be told here. Anyway have fun, but be very careful.
