Golden Leaves
Here I am in the leaves, checking out the yard.I'm making sure no nasty chattering squirrels try to invade. Or those horrible blue jays!
Most of the leaves are off the trees in the front yard but the backyard ones are slower to lose theirs.
Scout likes to hide in the leaves and chase them, but I like to sit amongst them and survey my domain.

Momma loves this time of year. We like to watch the leaves dance. They have just started to fall here in the Big Piney Woods; the birch, poplar and cottonwood are getting so pretty.

You look like you're enjoyin' yourself! We haves some leaves fallin', but mostly acorns right now, and they make loud noises when they hit the deck.

You look very regal Scooby. Our leaves haven't started to fall yet, but there is an autumnal nip in the air and our neighbour is having a bonfire.

Ahaa, you have squirrels and blue jays too!! Most of the time the squirrels stay out of our play area, but I do like to watch them in the trees cause they aren't bothering me. There aren't as many blue jays around here this year. Thank goodness. Our leaves haven't start turning yet but some are coming off the trees in the wind. There aren't very many acorns either this year. Gosh, two years ago there were so many you had to watch your head when you went outside. Scooby, really liked your picture.

scoobs: we loves this time of year. you are so lucky to be out there in it! although we don't go outside, we really enjoy seeing the leaves whisk around. in fact, we has a fav'rite pome (it was written by a *blush* d*g):

our mom's friend, Liz, loved that pome so much, she asked to have it put in her memorial card when she knew she was going to the bridge to collect her furbabies before she went to heaven. we know she was acited to see them all again, and we smile whenever we sees leaves flurrying because of it.
We don't have leaves yet. It is just now starting to go below 90 degrees. Our trees will all look around one day in December and go, "Oh, hey - did we miss Fall or somethin'?" and then they drop their leaves. That's what Mom says. I'm watching to see if it's true. (When's December??)
