Rosie
Some of you might remember last week we blogged about mom & dads friend Bob dying of cancer.
The funeral was today and mom said Bob & his wife Donna picked out some lovely readings and music to send him on his way.
Bob's wonderful big red dog, Rosie, age 13, stayed with him & the family for 3 days while Bob was at Hospice House. The people there understand that pets are as much a part of the family as children.
Well, when mom walked into the church for the visitation before the service, there was his beloved Rosie, lying by the casket.
Mom just about lost it right there, but Rosie gave her hand a lick and a mournful look with her big brown eyes as if to say, "it's ok now."
Rosie joined everyone afterwards for the funeral lunch, also. She was a quiet and dignified presence and it warmed everyones hearts to see her being made a part of things, like every member of the family should be.

How wonderful to allow Rosie to help Bob along to his final resting place. Faithful friend to the end.
I feel really bad for Rosie. I mean, she totally gets it, but people tend to forget the pets after a while when stuff like this happens. I hope the people around her ask her how she's doing, even a few weeks from now.

How sad, but how sweet and how right. Rosie is a part of the family and I'm glad she was able to be there to say farewell.

Oh that was a wonderful tale. I bet she will miss him a lot but I am glad she is being included -- I hope this means that the people who will love her now really do understand and love her a lot.
Oh my. Yes, Rosie IS a member of the family and deserved to be there.
That is just so nice. I'm glad she was there and I'm sure Bob was too. Animals feel the loss, too...

I am so glad all the members of the family were allowed to be there, including sweet loyal Rosie.
What a wonderful way to see Bob off. Rosie will probably never stop missing him, but I bet this helped her a lot, too. If only everybody understood how we all relate to each other, the world would be a better place.
What William said can't be said any better. I'm sure Rosie will feel the warmth of the love she had for Bob live on through all those who loved and remember him.
That warms owr hearts and makes us cry at da same time. An to think dat some peoples don't unnerstand da love between humans and their pets. That story just proved it beyond a doubt.
How nice that her Mom understood her need to be there too. Animals need comfort also. We will be purring for your friends and Mom and Dad.

Wonderful that Rosie was allowed to be part of the funeral. Purring and praying for all of Bob's family and friends.
That is wonderful that Rosie was included through everything. Usually the animals are ignored and they're grieving too.
But we're sorry for the loss of your friend.
We're glad that Rosie got to be there. Bob's family and friends are in our thoughts and purrayers.
How wonderful that Rosie could be there! Usually it's the pet waiting for it's human at the rainbow bridge - this time Bob will be waiting for Rosie.
I know it made Rosie's heart fell better to see Bob through, even to this final end..and it was good for Donna, too, to recognize her faithfulness. What a good dog!
