Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Purses Anonymous

One thing that puzzles us about moms is that thing they have to take everywhere called a "purse".
Our mom has a whole collection of them that she keeps in her bedroom, and more downstairs that she has in a storage container. Big ones, little ones, black, red, blue & green ones.
What is going on here? Why does one woman need so many of these things? She can't keep track of them. She is always looking for her purse when she goes out: "Now where is my purse?" she'll say. Then she has to dig around in it for awhile to locate the keys for that monster she drives. That thing seems to just swallow stuff like a big black hole.
The other day she just took her wallet and keys and then came home wondering why she didn't take her purse because she had a $5 coupon for Petco in it she could have used!
This is just a little insane from a cats eye view. Cats...we travel light. Carefree. Unencumbered by all the "stuff of life".
Apparently she isn't the only one like this. Here is a website she likes to visit:

Well, we have Catnip Anonoymous, maybe she needs Purses Anonymous!

THANK GOODNESS our mom isn't the only one! Ours always buys them, uses them a little and then gets another one. And then she "runs errands" with just her keys, phone, and debit card. There's always some coupon she "could have used today" tucked-away in one of them purse-thingies - ugh! What are we gonna do with them?!?!

my Mom usually uses one of those purse things at at time, for a long time. then when it gets scruffy she'll get a new one. i looked in it once and it was pretty crowded with a wallet and phone and lipsticks and checkbook and all kinda papers. i prefer to travel light, myself...

The Woman doesn't use purses. She figures if it doesn't fit in her pockets, she doesn't need it. That would make sense if she didn't carry so much in her pockets that she looks like a Chernobyl Hamster...

Our Mom has all types of those pursethingys. We like to find them in her closet(oh the fun in that closet)and sniff over them with a fine whisker. OOOOO the smells are devine.Lots of new and different smells. We can tell she has been to all kinds of different places because we always sniff her purse.

Our mom needs to join too. She especially likes the ones on sale. She says she is picky, but when you look at all of them in the closet, she doesn't look all that picky to us, or she'd have less of them...

I don't get the purse phenomenon, either. Where I come from you don't carry things in a bag...you have a staff of 20 who follow you around, carrying your junk.

Purses just seem irrational!

You know what's irrational? My woman says she HATES carrying a purse, but she still always uses one. And has 5 more in the closet that aren't quite right either. She has small shoulders, so the strapy thing has to go over her head and across her chest, but it gets caught on her coat hood. If she hates it so much, WHY does she keep using it? She says she'd use pockets, but her clothes never have enough of them. Then she grumbles about men's pants pockets being bigger than women's. Beans! Kukka has the right idea.

I've checked out Mom's purse many times but I don't feel the need to have any fashion accessory but my purple collar. I think it looks fine.
