New Computer!!
Mom's computer died 3 weeks ago and we were trying to post and visit as best we could.
Dad stuck a crowbar in his wallet and got her a new laptop.
He thought at first he would get a new one for himself and give his current one to her, but the one he has his eye on is $3,000 and we told him it would break the Stinky Goodness budget and that since his one now has nothing wrong with it, it made more sense to just get her a new one. He doesn't like to spend money if he doesn't have to.
So the new computer is up & running now but mom & us are used to the Mac. The new one is a PC. Things aren't quite the same (although when mom worked she had a PC but that was 3 years ago.) But we can cruise the blogs and mom can do her internet surfing and shopping and get her mail so all is well. There is lots more to learn about files & junk like that however.
We still have to figure out how to download pictures from the camera to the 'puter and onto blogger so we can get some posted soon. Just have to be brave & try it.

Good news that you now have a new 'puter so you can visit the blogs. I don't think any of our beans like spending the green papers on stuff like new 'puters or repairs.
A new computer is great, I bet you learn very fast!

Should be easy peasy with downloading pictures--your mom shouldn't even need special software. What my mom does is just plug the camera's memory card into the pc, but your mom could use a cable if that's easier. Good luck!

Congratulations on your new computer, hope you have fun with it. It is always nice getting a new one as they seem so speedy compared to the old one!
That was awfully nice of your dad to think of your mom and also to think of you three and the essential need for Stinky Goodness.

There's been a few puter hand-me-downs at our howse, but the boy always wants to use Mom's (the fastest) or Dad's (the latest Sims 2 add-on) insteada his. Mom used a Mac at Kinko's like 5 years ago, an it took her 5 minutes to crash it. She knew it was goin down, but couldn't find "Ctrl+Alt+Del" :-) Oh, an draggin her disk to the waste basket didn't make sense to her, either.
PS Mom says it's good to learn "a second language" and be good across PCs and Macs.
