Scout is sick
I took Scout to the vet this afternoon.
He's been droopy the last couple days and today he was under the bed all day, not eating and very lethargic.
He had a high temp of 106 with dehydration.
Dr. Rick did a blood workup and it showed a very high white blood cell count. 2-3 times higher than normal.
Poor little guy is so sick he couldn't put up a fight so he let them poke & prod him as much as they wanted.
They gave him fluids and a shot of antibiotics to start working right away, and tablets to start tomorrow for 10 days.
I need to take his temp again tomorrow and if it's over 103 they want him in for a shot of corticosteroids.
Can all you kitty friends keep him in your thoughts and prayers?

Oh we certainly will be praying for Scout. That's a high temp for a kitty cat - has your vet checked for Hemobartenella Felis? It sounds like similiar symptoms and we are glad to hear they are considering corticosteroids...

Oh my! My mom and Tommy and I are all sending warm fuzzy healing thoughts for Scout's speedy recovery. Poor guy. Hope he feels well enough soon to hiss at the vet at least or protest heartily at the indiginties of being poked.
