Cat Sitting
Mom was cat-sitting, Socks, the neighbor cat across the street this weekend. She came home smelling like him twice a day because he loves belly rubs and headbutts and he's super soft. She also gave him a couple of our feather butt mousies and that made him pretty happy.
Mom panicked the first visit because he didn't appear when she went in. She ended up calling and clapping her hands, going through the house twice looking for him. Opening closets, looking behind couches. Finally she ran back home to get her cell phone to let the family know he wasn't there, maybe he got out when they were packing.
Of course when she got back & opened the front door, there he was, sitting, looking at her.
Socks mom said that his favorite place is on top of one of the bookcases and that's probably where he was.
But mom really didn't appreciate Sock's sense of humor, fooling her like that.

Oh I am glad that your neighbors have such nice people to take care of their cat! I am sure he is quite pleased too.
Socks played a funny practical joke!
I like to do that to my mom all the time. When she finally finds me, I just give her the look that says, "I've been here the whole time."
I love to hide in plain site. hehehe, it drives mum nuts!
That wasn't very nice of Socks to scare your mother like that! We are glad he was okay.
Moms don't like it when they can't find kitties, especially when they are babysitting. It makes them all scared and stuff. We are glad that Socks was just hiding.

we would like to say "WAY TO GO SOCKS".
Socks knews where he was all da time, silly bean Mom. hehe
Fanks for stopping by, we added you to our side bar.
And you are right, low blood sugars aren't funs (Mommy Bean has had diabetes for over 30 years ICK).
Socks sounds like such a character! :)
Oh I would be scared too! I used to catsit for my next door neighbor too. She had two kitties; Mugsy and Bugsy. :) They moved away quite a while ago.
Your Mom is very nice to bring him toys and give him tummy rubs. Don't worry his scent will fade away soon.
Have a Really Happy Week!
Hugs,
Lorianna
Yep, that Socks used the oldest trick in the book...hide in plain sight while the people go a-callin' and a-callin'...heh.
Hahahahahaha - doesn't your mom know that this is one of the most favorite games a lot of us cats like to play? We do it, and the maid told us she knows a lot more cats who do it. She says she still doesn't like it, hahahahahahahaha!

Josie will sometimes play that game with Mom and Dad. They'll be calling her name, checking every spot, shaking the treats throughout the house. And then they go back to the first room they started in and she's looking at them like, what's the fuss, I've been right here all along. Always mess with their minds...

It does make humans very stressed when they can't find kitties whether their own or other peoples. I like to hide from time to time and my mom gets all scared when I decide to hide in one of my 100 favorite places to hide. Shaking a treats bag usually gets me to come.
Socks has a good sense of humor...

Oh dat's not nice of Socks to play games like dat on yoo. But, Angie kinda doze dat to Mommy in da yard. Mom is always yellin' Angie - Angie - Angie - an Angie jus stays hiding in one of da big plants till she's ready to stroll out on her own time. Can yoo imagin?
Bout owr raw food stuff - we didn't haf a hard time starting to eat raw food I finks coz we ate raw deer meat an beef an stuff once in a while so it wasn't a shock. Mom put in on da plate, we licked it an den we started eating it.
Some of da books say to put a little of da old food on it ferst so it smells like da old crunchies or stinky goodness. Cut it up in small pieces first too. Plus make sure yoo are really hungry.
That's furry nice of your mom to take care of Socks while his people are away. We're sure he didn't mean anyfing by scarin' your mom - he was probably playin with her in his own way.
Kitties DO have their own senses of humor, yes? We beans don't always appreciate it, though, but THEY do, especially if they have other kitties to share their joy!
This is a cute story!
