A Happy Day
Our dad had cancer in the soft tissues around his knee in his right leg. There was a big tumor and it was spreading out with tentacles. The doctors had to keep cutting until samples under the microscope showed no more cancer. At one point they thought about amputating. Then he had to have reconstruction done by a plastic surgeon. They cut a chunk out of his left thigh to paste over the big hole and did lots of skin grafting. He still looks like his leg was attacked by a shark. But don't worry about him...he still plays golf everyday.
He had his every 6 month check up at the doctor yesterday, and he is still cancer free after 6 years! Now he only has to go in yearly since he passed the milestone.
It was great news in our house, and it was also his 49th birthday!
What a great present!

I exclaimed in shock when I read about the cancer, but I'm so glad that was 6 years ago. Phew!
