Cabin Fever
Scout: Whatcha lookin' at Mom?Mom: It's so gray and dreary outside.
Scout: What does ya mean?
Mom: Well, there's more snow everywhere and its cold and gray, no sun for days at a time. The trees and everything is so bare and stark. It was nice for a couple days last week, but now its cold and blah again.
Scout: Hey Mom! Our blogging friends live everywhere. Let's ask them where the best place to live in the winter is.
Mom: That's a good idea Scoutie!
Scout: Ok friends, where is the best place to live in the winter to escape the stuff mom calls the blahs?

My mom and dad live even further north than you guys. We can't wait for all the blowing snow to melt so that we can get out and play in our yard. Dad says that even though the weather can be crappy sometimes, he likes the fact that we have definite season changes. Sunny Summers, Rainy Spring, Crisp Fall and a usually a Snowy Winter. His prescription to beat the blahs.. Take two purring cats, a good book and a comfortable chair. Apply as often as needed or until symptoms disappear.
We had the warmest day today we've had so far. Our daffs have been in bud for weeks and weeks and finally with today's warm weather it looks like they are thinking about opening. Sometimes my mum thinks it would be nice to live somewhere warm in winter - our friends live in Lisbon and it is never that cold in the winter there. But she likes the changing seasons too, her favourite seasons are spring and autumn. Probably my favourite seasons too!
We say Texas!! But...the summers are waaaayy to HOT!!. Right now we live in Colorado. It's not too bad. We still have a little snow on the ground but not too much. We also agree with Magoo's dad.

P.S. May we add a link to your blog in ours?
Colorado is nice, I was born there. We live in Oklahoma now, that's where the mom was born. It's about the same, but a little warmer in winter. One day in January it was 92 and broke a record. It was very sunny today, my sissyfur Luna hogged all the good sunspots.
We live in North Idaho, but, remember......mom and dad were borned in Minnesota.
Up until 3 years ago we all went to Laughlin, Nevada to spend the winter months. Nice and warm there, but mom is a homebody and prefers staying home, snuggled up by the fire. Idaho winters arent bad like Minnesota winters, we have no snow left and things are starting to grown.
Hawaii please.
I like it here in Northern CA. But the People keep talking about Lost Vegas. During the winter that would be nice from what they say. Here is nice, too, it doesn't get too cold, but lately we've had a lot of rain.
HA! Not here!!! :)
BBBBBRRRRRRRR
We've spent all of March (and Feb and Jan) moaning about the weather, but luckily we saw some gorgeous sun-spots for the first time this week, so we played in the garden whilst mom planted things.
We live near Birmingham in the UK.
Where else but Kitty Colorado?! We can have snow one day, warm and sunny the next. Make sure you have something warm anyways, just in case.
not the mitten state, we're freezin' our butts off. it's cold and grey and damp, brrrrrrr.
Well we think Poiland is the best and Mom agrees because she hates to be cold. So we vote on Poiland, but everyone probably likes different places. ~Poiland Tribe
Well North Carolina is nice in the winter, it doesn't get reely cold until Jan. and Feb., and we usually only get one or two snow and ice storms and they don't last long. Mom stays home and we snuggle up. But the summer is long and toooo hot. Spring and fall are so nice, we have the windows open all the time and the nice wind blows in all the good smells. Spring comes nice and early so that's our favorite!
Finny (NC native) & Buddy, who is from Pencilvanya
we are in the Great White North too.
I fink Aridzona sounds like a hot place to live. Mama's uncle lives there almost all year now, he used to live in the Great White North too.

Your mom is probably like ours - while she doesn't exactly like the cold, she's okay with it. It's the grey days that get her down. She agrees that two cats and a good book are a nice cure, but she says to add a fire and lots of lights on in the house when it looks yucky out. (She even shuts the blinds sometimes - except one or two for us to look out.)
She says you could try Texas for lots of sun during the winter, and she sure liked living in PA during the summer. When people there thought it was hot, she'd chuckle. Of course, she was freezing her tookas off every time it got below 40 degrees, which they thought was funny.
Our Mom was wonderin the same thing. We don't think here in Konnectikut is the place to be. The seasons are nice but it's so yucky cold in Winter. This year wasn't as bad as some but this ugly gray seems to drag on forever before it finally looks like Spring. Daddy wants to stay in Turks & Caicos instead of just vacationing there. Lost Vegas might be nice but it's so durn brown and it's hot as you know what in Summer even if it is a dry heat.
I meowed this to DKM and she said Santa Barbara CA where she grew up. It's always around 70
Florida...'cept it gets REAL hot and has big windy kaboomies in the summer.

Well, Wisconsin isn't the best place in winter either, but it's really nice the other 3 seasons. Maybe we could get a condo to share for 3 months, somewhere warm, for all us northern kitties.
