Little Cat Feet

Shaggy and his littermate brother Scooby came to live with us in October 2005, when they were 5 years old. Scout arrived in 2006 at the age of 6 weeks. Scooby passed over very suddenly to the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2012 and is remembered fondly and missed deeply.

Soft as a Downy Chick

John Denver said it in one of his songs.
(See our previous post) Here it is.......
"Grandma's Feather Bed"
It was nine feet high & six feet wide,
Soft as a downy chick.
It was made from the feathers of forty-leven geese,
took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick.
It would hold eight kids and four hound dogs,
and a piggie we stole from the shed.
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lotta fun
on Grandma's feather bed.

John Denver is Mom's all time favorite.
He was killed October 12, 1997 in a plane crash.
He was a kind and gentle soul who loved animals and nature and worked hard for animal rights, conservation and preservation causes.
We think we oughta get one of those beds for the next party. Minus the woofies, of course.

oh John Denver was my favorite too. I used to play Grandmas' Feather Bed so much that my mom banned it from the house. I cried when I found out he had been killed in a plane crash. - Meezer Mom Mary

Gosh, it sounds like you can have a lot of fun in a bed like that with so many to play with. Mom says she can remember her grandmother's feather bed and how she loved to sleep in it. Now that's going back a ways.

Casper!! O.K. sorry Mom. Psst it's going back a ways.(whisper)

Bet she didn't have as much fun as all those that John sang about. Mom liked John Denver's songs too. She really like the song Calypso.

My agent says she used to sing this song at summer camp.

She said they would sing it forty-leven times a day because it was their favorite.
